Rays take over top spot, Mets Plummet in latest MLBI

The Sporttrade MLB Power Index allows you to see how teams are performing relative to market expectations on a daily, weekly and season long basis. Is the public missing out on a profitable team? Are they bullish on a lineup that's losing them money?

How do we calculate a team's MLBI? The MLB Power Index (Team Value) shows how much money you would be positive or negative in dollars (commission included) if you purchased one share of a team per game. This index will be updated over the course of a season following each day’s games and will be represented using the MLBI value.

In the link below, you'll find several other indicators to help you bet better on baseball. Additionally, we'll post the week's best and worst performers. Through two weeks, the top performers are:

  1. Tampa Bay Rays: Yearly ROI 28.05%, MLBI $608.84

  2. Pittsburgh Pirates: Yearly ROI 23.73%, MLBI $379.63

  3. Baltimore Orioles: Yearly ROI 21.53%, MLBI $386.43

The worst performers are:

  1. St. Louis Cardinals: Yearly ROI -42.51%, MLBI -$806.49

  2. Oakland Athletics: Yearly ROI -40.50%, MLBI -$537.88

  3. Kansas City Royals: Yearly ROI -38.04%, MLBI -$546.05

Other Notes:

The New York Mets fell 6 spots into the Worst 5.

The Detroit Tigers moved into the Best 5 for the first time this season.
